Have you wanted to explore your own creativity and expand on skills in drawing and painting? Abstract 101 aims to demystify abstract painting, as we journey through art history, developing practical skills in painting and drawing along the way. This class provides a safe space to create. Get messy and get free, there is no right way to paint! Facilitated by tutor and artist Sarah Murray, providing you with hands on instruction and feedback. Open to all abilities. Materials provided!
About the Artist
Sarah Murray is an artist based in Canberra, Ngunnawal country, working primarily in drawing and painting. Their work explores a bodily experience of landscape, engaging the body within the time, space and place of the land. Sarah’s gestural and immersive works are made both in the studio and outdoors in the landscape. In 2021 Sarah graduated the ANU School of Art and design with first-class honours and since has been involved with various shows around Canberra and interstate.
